Alana Byler is a photographer and director based in Los Angeles, California. Her work explores complex emotional and psychological themes, rooted in their personal relationship to the subject. Through this process, she investigates ideas of womanhood, loss, trauma, memory, hope, courage, and grief. Engaging with these themes allows her to both process lived experiences and translate them into visual form. Her work has been recognized in the Long Beach Analog competition, where she earned third place, and in Los Angeles Central Market Gallery.
